We are continuing to reap the benefits of our £200,000 investment in new production equipment and new jobs last year. This was made after recording our best trading period in the last three years.
We reported a 25% sales in 2013 compared with the same period last year. As part of our expansion, we invested in two AXYZ CNC wood routing machines, enabling us to increase production output of internal frames and components by 50%.
To handle the expansion, five new jobs have been created in our hand-finished upholstery, woodworking, preparation and shipping departments.
Anthony Kiff (Pictured), Managing Director of Wilcare said: “It is encouraging to see buoyancy returning to the furniture sector after five testing years economically. We are seeing a healthy increase in our order books, both for our own brand range and in contracted manufacturing for suppliers to the NHS furniture.
We are currently working on a series of new models designs and will be announcing further expansion in the near future.”
Wilcare manufactures to a wide range of healthcare specifications, producing specialist chairs for people of up to 63-stone in weight.
