GENERAL CARE/FABRIC CHARACTERISTICS
All upholstery piled fabrics are subject to seating/pile pressure and creasing to some degree. This is where shading can occur due to change of light reflection when the pile is naturally flattened during use.
Frequent turning of the cushions, where possible, and good general care of your upholstery will help maintain the original appearance of the fabric.
Pile pressure is not a fabric fault, nor will it detract from the wearing from the wearing properties of the material.
Upholstered furniture should not be exposed to long periods of direct sunlight as this may result in colours fading over time.
Care should also be taken particularly on light colours, as it is possible to get dye transfer from non-dye fast clothing (i.e. Jeans).
Synthetic fibres, although strong and highly durable, can in very rare circumstances cause a certain amount of noise. This is not detrimental to the performance of the fabric.
All cushions which are used with pile fabrics must be lined. When using our fabrics we would always recommend overlocking, particularly on cushions, 2cm seam and 8 stitches per 2.5cm.
We strongly advise against the use of any chemical treatments. Such treatments may adversely affect the wearing qualities and vernal performance of these fabrics. We regret therefore, we are unable to accept responsibility for any fabrics treated this way other than in their original manufacturing process.
